Adhesives are accessories used in some profile systems. Each system may or may not require a specific type of adhesive.
For example, systems such as PF. 1010, PF. 1011, PF. 1025, PF. 1020, PF. 1025-T, PF. 1015, or PF. 1016 require the use of polyurethane mastic. In some cases, it is only used to prevent the panels from rattling and lateral movement due to wind, and in others, it is also used to ensure proper support and optimal load distribution.
In other systems, such as the PF. Bonded, the cladding supports the vertical and horizontal forces to which it is exposed only through the structural façade adhesive system. The systems are composed of different elements, all of which are necessary, such as a cleaner for the cladding and aluminum surfaces, a primer to improve adhesion, double-sided tape to hold the panel during installation, and the structural adhesive itself. Some of these adhesive systems include Soltec’s Panel-Fix, Sika’s SikaTack Panel, and Bostik’s PanelTack.
