It is the documented evaluation of the performance of a construction product in terms of its essential characteristics, in accordance with the corresponding European Evaluation Document (EED).
This evaluation is issued by a Technical Evaluation Body (TEB) at the request of the manufacturer. The European Technical Assessment (ETA) includes the performance to be declared, by levels or classes or a description of the essential characteristics agreed between the manufacturer and the TEB for the declared intended use and the technical details necessary for the application of the assessment system and verification of proof of benefits.
ETAs are intended to certify products that, because they are highly innovative, do not yet fall within the scope of the harmonized standards.
Obtaining an ETE allows having a CE marking, which facilitates the commercialization of non-regulated products in European and international markets.
It is the process by which the manufacturer beneficiary of an ETA must maintain for its product the declared and evaluated performances, based on the EVCP System option indicated in its ETA, and previously assigned by the European Commission. The EVCP System options defined here present different tasks to be carried out by the manufacturer and, if applicable, by a body notified for this purpose.
For façade profiling systems, the level of requirement is 2+, which implies that the notified body (in our case, the Eduardo Torroja Institute of Construction Sciences) carries out permanent monitoring, evaluation and supervision of production control in factory, and annually issues the certificate of conformity of factory production control (CPR). The ETE will be invalid without the corresponding annual CPR certificate.
The DIT, or Document of Technical Suitability, is a voluntary document issued by the Eduardo Torroja Institute of Construction Sciences (IETcc), which contains a favorable technical assessment of the suitability of non-traditional or innovative construction systems for use in construction, which do not have specific regulations.
This way, there is regulatory and technical support for the manufacture and execution of the systems. Since its official entry into the system of the Technical Building Code, the requirements that the building elements must meet are established, but the way in which they must be accomplished is left open; so they have to be technically justified. The DIT is a recognized document that allows justifying the installation of the system in any building project
ANCLAJES GRAPAMAR currently has DIT 548R/16 for the PF.1011 profiling system (for porcelain slabs). Regarding the PF.1025 system (for stone cladding), we have replaced the DIT 513R/14 that it had with the ETE 21-0890; the new ETE for the PF.1011 system is in the process of being drafted.
