MUSEO GUGGENHEIM DE BILBAO

This is one of our most emblematic projects. Completed in 1997, it was the first major project that ANCLAJES GRAPAMAR carried out in collaboration with Frank Gehry, one of the most famous architects in the world. The stone surfaces were fixed with our Ref. 1005 system, although we had to make some modifications to suit the needs of Frank Gehry’s office engineering team.

The building is located in front of the Ría de Bilbao, so the sea is very aggressive with the steel due to the humidity and the salty environment. The stone is in yellow amber from the national quarries of Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia) and the total facade area is 7,000 square metres. It was a real challenge, but after being in contact with the technical staff and after a long time dedicated to the design, to cover the needs required by the engineers, we managed to design the perfect coating for this unique project.
